The Moldovan government did not pay due attention to communication with Russian-speaking citizens. This was stated by Moldovan President Maia Sandu at the final press conference on December 19, the broadcast of which was published on the Moldovan portal NewsMaker.

"We need to recognize that we have not paid due attention to conducting a dialog with the population in Russian. This applies not only to the Republic as a whole, but also to Gagauzia, where not everyone speaks Romanian", - said the head of Moldova to the journalists' question about the mistakes made by the current government.

She promised to correct the situation next year by visiting the autonomy more often and communicating with citizens.

In September, the leader of the opposition bloc "Victory" Ilan Shor, said that if Maia Sandu wins the presidential election in Moldova, the Russian language will be excluded from the normative turnover. According to him, the ruling Action and Solidarity party despises the country's Russian-speaking population.
