Moscow declared "orange" level of weather danger due to freezing rain


The "orange" level of weather danger was declared in Moscow due to the forecasted icy rain and wet snow in the evening on December 19. This was reported on the website of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation.
"In the period from 21:00 Moscow time on December 19 to 18:00 Moscow time on December 20 in places in Moscow are expected icy rain, ice, sticking of wet snow on wires and trees," - noted in the message.
According to the forecast of forecasters, in the capital predict warming to -3 degrees Celsius. Experts expect about the same air temperature on the night of Friday, December 20. However, warming to +2 degrees is predicted by morning.
Earlier, December 19, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that the weather in Moscow during this week will change sharply and often. He noted that on December 20, residents of the capital expect a thaw to +3 degrees, similar weather will continue on Saturday. However, on Sunday afternoon the temperature will fall to -6. Despite such changes in the weather, the snow cover in Moscow will remain.
