Ash ejection twice in one day occurred at the Ebeko volcano in the Kuril Islands

On the island of Paramushir in the Kurils, ash emissions from the Ebeko volcano occurred twice in one day. In both cases, the height of emissions was 2.5 km.

As SakhalinMedia IA specifies, the data on the first emission were received in the afternoon of Thursday, December 19, by the center of the Emergencies Ministry in the Sakhalin region. The plume spread in the southeastern direction at a distance exceeding 5 km. Later, another emission was recorded at the volcano.

The unified dispatch service reported that no ashfall was observed in Severo-Kurilsk, no threat to the population, no hydrogen sulfide odor was felt in the city. Calls and complaints from residents have not been recorded.

Earlier, on December 11, at the Ebeko volcano in Severo-Kurilsk there was also an ash fall to a height of 3 km. The plume spread in the northern direction for a distance of more than 5 km, specified in the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
