Putin urged to bring order to the issuance of preferential mortgages in Russia

Family mortgage should not have any limits, this program should be preserved. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the "Results of the Year" on December 19.

He called outrageous the cases when people can not take their family mortgage.

"For banks it should be only in pleasure - to receive 6% of those who use the family mortgage loan, and the difference between the bank rate and these 6% is reimbursed by the state, must reimburse, and here there should be no limits on the part of the state," - said Putin, answering the question of Sergei Parkhomenko from Krasnodar about the future of the family mortgage.

The Russian leader promised to "put order" with the issuance of preferential mortgages. He also confirmed that the country will continue to offer these privileges for families with children, IT specialists, as well as for residents of the Far East, the Arctic zone and new territories.

"I ask the government to ensure the volume of the necessary subsidies. We will put things in order here," Putin urged.

Earlier, on December 14, experts reported that in the beginning of 2025, the issuance of mortgages in Russia will decline sharply by 30-40% due to the fact that the standard of protection of the rights and legitimate interests of mortgage borrowers will begin to operate from the beginning of the year. It is unlikely to count on an increase in the availability of mortgage loans in the coming year.
