Russians named top popular destinations for New Year holidays

The demand for tours for New Year holidays with departure from Moscow this year is one and a half times higher than a year earlier, the service "Fly.ru" reported to "Izvestia" on December 20.

Egypt, Thailand, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, China, Sri Lanka, India, Maldives and some regions of Russia were among the top 10 popular destinations for New Year holidays. A year earlier, the top also included Cuba and Venezuela.

"At the moment, the top three destinations in domestic tourism with flights from Moscow and arrivals during the New Year holidays include Krasnodar Territory, Mineralnye Vody, Kaliningrad region", - reported in the service.

The average check for New Year tours with departures from Moscow increased for Egypt by 34% - up to 280 thousand rubles, Thailand - by 3.9% to 447 thousand rubles, in Russia - by 24.6% to 123.7 thousand rubles. The average check for tours to the UAE decreased by 2.9% to Br344 thousand, while for Turkey it became less by 11.8% and amounted to Br254.1 thousand.

Earlier, December 12, it was reported that the list of budget travel destinations for the New Year vacations included Astrakhan, Ryazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, cities of the Golden Ring (Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Kostroma), as well as Tula, Tver, Nizhny Novgorod and Vladikavkaz. This follows from the data of the National tour operator "Alean". According to experts, short four-day tours for two people with a New Year's Eve night in these domestic destinations will cost up to Br30 thousand.
