Putin called Grozny a modern Russian miracle

Russian President Vladimir Putin called Chechnya's capital Grozny a modern Russian miracle during the "Results of the Year".
"You know, it is a miracle. It is a modern Russian miracle. I flew over Grozny during the harsh years when the fight against terrorism, including and above all international terrorism, was underway there. Just ruins. And from these ruins machine-gun bursts were still heard on the helicopter," the president said.
He said that there was even a proposal to move the capital to Gudermes. However, this idea was abandoned.
"Grozny is the traditional historical capital of all Chechnya, of the Chechen people, we will restore it. It is a miracle, what has been done in Grozny in recent years. This is, of course, the result of the President's actions, first of all. Well, it is the result of the work of the Chechen people, their hard work, their talent that played a huge role in this," Vladimir Putin said.
The head of state also pointed out that in addition to beautiful mosques, the city has new structures, buildings and architectural solutions that make people proud of what has been done in Chechnya and Grozny in recent years.
The direct line with Vladimir Putin in 2024 is combined with a press conference for the media. The format, titled "Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin," allows the president to convey his position not only on citizens' issues, but also on the state and world agenda, which is often asked about by journalists.
Representatives of Western media and foreign journalists accredited in Russia have also received invitations to the events. As of the morning of December 19, the number of requests sent to the direct line with the president exceeded 2 million.
The first live broadcast was held in December 2001. By the President's own admission, this event is the most powerful sociological poll, which allows citizens to convey their position and assessment of the country's leadership.
