Putin demanded that companies stop the practice of understating airfare benefits

Airlines should stop the practice of underestimating the benefits for air tickets, including those for large families. This requirement was put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 19 during the "Results of the Year".
The head of state pointed out that families with children, including large families, are entitled to a benefit - a discount of 50% of the airfare, but airlines often introduce their own benefits, calling it a non-standard fare. Because of this, large families do not get the benefit they are due.
"This practice should be stopped. I fully agree with you and I ask the government together with airlines to adjust this problem no later than January 14 next year. We will solve this problem," the president said, answering the question of Anna Shenkao, a mother of five children from Surgut.
The mother of many children told Putin that she does not receive allowance for her children because her family's income is only 78 rubles above the subsistence minimum. In addition, the family does not receive the tax deduction it is entitled to by law. Shenkao explained that one of her children is disabled and receives a pension.
The President noted that income is counted for the previous year and this is a formal approach, within its framework it is necessary to find ways to avoid the situation faced by a mother with many children. In particular, not so long ago it was decided to recalculate personal income tax (PIT) and refund at least 7% of the amount paid. Putin expressed hope that this would help to compensate for the under-received support. The President added that he would ask Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and the Labor Ministry to think about how to solve the problem of waiving benefits in case of small excesses of income conditions.
The head of state noted that Shenkao's family can be an example for other families because they are raising five children.
Earlier, on September 9, Putin instructed the government to consider an annual payment to large families, timed to coincide with the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, which is celebrated on July 8.
