A ground group of rescuers went to the place of the alleged emergency landing of the An-2 airplane in Kamchatka. This was reported in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the region on December 19.
"A combined ground group of rescuers is preparing to leave Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the place of a possible emergency landing of the plane An-2 in Kamchatka," - stated in the message of the department in Telegram-channel.
The report notes that the Mi-8 helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with rescuers is also preparing to fly to the site of the accident, but weather conditions prevent it. It specified that the departure with 15 rescuers is scheduled for the morning of December 20.
The disappearance of the An-2 airplane became known earlier in the day. The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka region Sergey Lebedev reported about the beginning of the rescue operation. At the same time, the Eastern Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation noted that in Kamchatka began an investigation into the fact of an aviation accident with the aircraft An-2.
Later in the day Lebedev said that the aircraft received a signal of emergency landing. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region specified that the aircraft was carrying 800 kg of commercial cargo, two crew members and one passenger.
