The Russian national team remained in 34th place in the FIFA ranking

The Russian national team is still ranked 34th in the International Football Federation (FIFA) ranking. The updated version of the top national teams was published on the organization's website on December 19.

In November, the Russian team defeated the national teams of Brunei and Syria in friendly matches. The Russian national team has 1512.32 points.

The leader of the rating remained the national team of Argentina (1867 points). The second place is occupied by France (1859 points), the third line - the winners of the European Championship-2024 Spain (1853 points). England are fourth (1,813 points) and Brazil remain in fifth place (1,775 points).

On February 28, 2022 FIFA and UEFA suspended national teams and clubs from the Russian Federation from participation in all competitions under the auspices of the organizations. As assured in the organizations, soccer will become "a vector of unity and peace between peoples" in case the situation in Ukraine improves.

In June this year, Dmitry Svishchev, chairman of the State Duma committee on physical culture and sports, said that the Russian national team would still have a chance to return to international soccer tournaments. He pointed to the fact that Russian players continue to play in European clubs.
