Russia is carrying out a huge program for the restoration and development of new territories, designed to last until 2030. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the "Results of the Year" on December 19, adding that there are enough forces and funds to implement all areas.

"We have a huge program for the restoration and development of these territories. It is calculated until 2030. And there the work is already underway and will continue in a number of directions. This is the restoration of the road network, this is the restoration of housing, this is the restoration of housing and utilities, social and cultural facilities," he pointed out.

Putin pointed out that within three years it is planned to bring the entire road network of the new regions to a normative condition.

"Already now 21 thousand objects have been restored, with 11 thousand at the expense of the federal budget, and 10 thousand objects at the expense of sponsor regions from all over the Russian Federation. I, by the way, here I want to look directly into the camera and thank the leaders and residents of these regions for this tremendous help. <...> Within the next five to six years we must restore and build another 20 thousand objects," the Russian leader added.

The head of state also said that the new regions have great development potential, including tax potential.

Earlier, on December 14, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said at the XXII Congress of the United Russia party that the potential of the new Russian regions should be fully realized. According to him, Novorossiya is home to energetic, talented and brave people capable of strengthening Russia's strength through their efforts.

The direct line with Vladimir Putin in 2024 is combined with a press conference for the media. The format called "Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin" allows the president to convey his position not only on citizens' issues, but also on the state and world agenda, which is often asked about by journalists. Representatives of Western media and foreign journalists accredited in Russia have also received invitations to the events.

As of the morning of December 19, the number of requests sent to the direct line with the president exceeded 2 million. The first live broadcast was held in December 2001. By the President's own admission, this event is the most powerful sociological poll, which allows citizens to convey their position and assessment of the country's leadership.
