Putin noted the high quality of Russian patriotic cinema

Russia is making very high quality patriotic movies. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the "Results of the Year" on December 19.

According to him, the departure of many foreign film productions from the Russian Federation contributes to the development of domestic cinematography.

"So, our fairy tales, bylinas and so on are being revived, I myself sometimes watch it with pleasure with my close kids <...>," Putin said.

As for the construction of cinemas in the Arctic zone, the Russian leader said that at the moment there is a program of individual development of cities, which today includes 25 settlements.

"In the Arctic zone, we have kept the preferential mortgage at 2%. People are taking advantage of this benefit. We are doing a whole program on individual cities in this zone - that's 25 cities. And we will expand this program across the country to 200 cities. We will see what we can do additionally on individual items," - said the President.

Earlier, on September 4, the head of the Ministry of Culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova told in the studio of "Izvestia" in the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) that at the moment 82% of distribution in cinemas are Russian-made films. She emphasized that the country has returned to the level of box office receipts that it had before the pandemic.
