Putin responded to a question about the name of the Oreshnik missile

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on December 19 during "Results of the Year" that he did not know why Russia's medium-range ballistic missile "Oreshnik" was named that way.

"Honestly, I don't know," Putin replied to a question from the audience about why Russia's medium-range missile was named Oreshnik.

Putin announced the combat test of the Oreshnik ballistic missile, one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, on Nov. 21.
