There were 267 traffic accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours

Over the past day on Russian roads there were 267 traffic accidents, in which 23 people were killed and 319 injured. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Thursday, December 19, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 96 accidents, 53 of which occurred at crosswalks and 43 outside their zone of action, six pedestrians were killed, another 91 were injured of varying severity. With participation of minors for the past day 35 accidents were registered, as a result of which 36 young road users were injured, including 23 pedestrians and 12 child passengers. One child passenger died.

Thus, in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic at the 68th km of the federal highway A-165 Lermontov - Cherkessk the driver of a passenger car in a prohibited place went into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a cargo "Gazelle". As a result of the accident, the driver of the car accident and his ten-year-old female passenger, who was in the back seat wearing a seat belt, were killed. The driver of the light truck and two more passengers of the passenger car are hospitalized with injuries.

The traffic police urges motorists to carry out transportation of children in strict compliance with the current safety rules. Life and health of young passengers entirely depend on driving skills, experience, well-being and law-abiding behavior on the road of the driver of the car, in the cabin of which there are child passengers.

Since yesterday evening in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania due to bad weather on the neighboring side temporarily stopped traffic on the federal highway A-161 Vladikavkaz - Nizhny Lars - the border with the Republic of Georgia in the direction of leaving the Russian Federation. At the same time, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, traffic was restored from the 5th to the 22nd km of the regional highway from Norilsk to the airport.
