In Krasnoyarsk, a man who killed his family 26 years ago was sentenced to 17 years in prison

The court in Krasnoyarsk sentenced a man, who committed a high-profile murder of a family with a child 26 years ago, to 17 years in a strict regime colony. This was reported on December 19 in the press service of the main investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Krasnoyarsk region and the Republic of Khakassia.

"In the morning of June 1, 1998, the law enforcement authorities received a report on the unknown disappearance of a 36-year-old man, his 31-year-old wife and their five-year-old daughter," - noted in the Telegram-channel of the department.

At that time, a criminal case was initiated, but it was not possible to prove the involvement of the perpetrator. Only in 2023, investigators of the IC of Russia and criminalists of the IC of the Russian Federation were able to study the materials of interrogation of witnesses and conduct expert studies to prove the crime.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator owed a large sum in 1998 to his acquaintance. Not wanting to repay the debt, he armed himself with a hunting rifle and shot the couple, as well as their young daughter.

The man fully admitted guilt in the committed crime, told in detail about the circumstances of the murder, as well as showed the place where he hid the bodies.

Earlier, December 5, law enforcement agencies detained four men suspected of a triple murder committed in 2005 in the Moscow region. The defendants were charged under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").
