Media reported about the arrest of the accounts of former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Bulgakov and his wife

The court has arrested the accounts of the former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Dmitry Bulgakov and his wife. This was reported on December 19 by "RIA Novosti" with reference to the case materials.

"The investigation has reason to believe that illegally received by Bulgakov monetary funds, including accumulated by him on the settlement account opened on his wife. The term of arrest on the funds extended until March 25, 2025", - stated in the material.

In addition, the arrest was also imposed on the personal account of the former deputy minister, the agency specifies.

The detention of Bulgakov within the framework of the criminal case on corruption became known on July 26. There is no exact information about the articles under which he is charged. According to Bulgakov's income declaration, he earned 15.2 million rubles in 2018. It was reported that he, while serving as deputy defense minister, lobbied for the interests of JSC Gryazinsky Food Combine, which supplies the Russian Armed Forces with food.

Also in July, it became known that representatives of the board of directors of JSC "Gryazinsky Food Factory" are being held in the criminal case in which Bulgakov was arrested. They are accused of embezzlement or misappropriation by an organized group or on a particularly large scale (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Later it became known that three more companies are involved in the case.

The investigation estimated the damage at about 1.3 billion rubles. In October, law enforcement agencies reported that the top managers of JSC "Gryazinsky Food Factory" had not compensated for the damage.

On December 18, Bulgakov and other defendants in the case - CEO of OOO Neva-Balt SPb German Yakovlev and military pensioner Gennady Seleznev - had their arrest extended until March 25.

Bulgakov served as deputy defense minister of the Russian Federation in 2008-2022.
