The West is pushing Ukraine to continue the conflict with Russia. This was stated on December 19 by the head of the parliamentary faction of the party "National Union" Marine Le Pen.

"I said from the very beginning: Ukraine cannot win in this conflict. We are pushing it to continue (the conflict. - Ed.)," she said in an interview with El Pais.

Le Pen recognized that Ukraine can win only if NATO intervenes in the conflict. However, such a step could lead to the start of World War III.

Earlier, on November 14, international security expert Mark Episkopos said that Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia despite financial and military assistance from the West. He drew attention to the fact that Russia's defeat will not be achieved "by any means."

On the same day, a former special forces officer, retired colonel Anatoliy Matviychuk, told Izvestiya that the West realizes that Ukraine's defeat is inevitable, but continues to talk about commitment to its victory only to confront Russia.

On the eve, the media reported that the European Union was preparing for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, which could include territorial concessions in exchange for security guarantees for Kiev. In addition, a former US diplomatic service officer, Peter van Buren, said that Kiev would have to cede liberated territories to Moscow in the event of a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
