The number of calls sent to the direct line with Russian President Vladimir Putin has exceeded 1.8 million, Izvestiya's correspondent reported on December 19.

Calls are received by operators who change every two hours. They are representatives of the "People's Front", journalism students from Zaporozhye, Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as participants of the special operation.

Processing of appeals for the first time takes place with the use of artificial intelligence. In addition, operators receive phone calls and SMS messages from citizens.

Some appeals and problematic questions of Russians began to be solved even before the start of the direct line, mostly people called with gratitude and shared pleasant impressions. However, the most important topics will be selected and voiced to the President during the live line.

Among the key topics highlighted science and education, these topics are especially relevant for the younger generation. Russians from 18 to 35 years old are concerned about housing problems, and health care and social policy - the most frequent topic of references of representatives of the older generation.

On December 14, Putin reported that he had already familiarized himself with the questions to be answered during the direct line, and noted that the country is developing, but there are still many issues to be resolved.

The direct line of the head of state on December 19 will be combined with a large press conference. The events will be held under the title "The results of the year with Vladimir Putin". Representatives of Western media and foreign journalists accredited in Russia have received invitations.
