An-2 airplane carrying cargo disappeared on Kamchatka Peninsula


An-2 airplane, which was performing commercial transportation of cargo on the route Milkovo - Ossora, disappeared in Kamchatka. This was reported on December 19 by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka region Sergei Lebedev.

A rescue operation has begun, Lebedev added.
According to Izvestia's source, the plane's crew last gave an emergency signal over the Ust-Kamchatsky region, after which it disappeared from radar. There is no contact with the crew members. A total of three people were on board.
Later in the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department on transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation noted that in Kamchatka began an investigation into the fact of an aircraft accident with the aircraft An-2. All the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
"At present, search and rescue measures are being carried out, aimed at establishing the location of the aircraft", - specified in the message in the Telegram-channel.

Rosaviatsia representative Artem Korenyako, in turn, said that the plane in the fall received significant damage. On the fact of the plane crash a criminal case under part 3 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety of movement and operation of air transport, causing the death of two persons by negligence"), investigators are clarifying the circumstances of the fall of the aircraft.
