Reuters reported on the UK's intention to provide the AFU with a new aid package

The United Kingdom intends to provide Ukraine with a new aid package worth $286m, Reuters reported on 19 December.
According to the agency, the new package of military aid to the Kiev regime will include $115m worth of equipment to strengthen the Ukrainian Navy, namely small boats, reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned surface vessels, barrage munitions and UAVs for mine countermeasures.
It is also planned to transfer air defense equipment, including radars, ground-based decoys and drone electronic warfare systems, worth $85 million. And $32 million will be allocated for support and spare parts for systems previously supplied to Ukraine, as well as $49 million for the delivery of more than 1,000 drone electronic warfare (REB) systems, for the joint purchase of respirators, and equipment to improve the defense capabilities of the AFU.
"The UK also said that will provide Ukraine with more opportunities for military training," - stated in the material of the publication.
Earlier, on November 29, Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Andrei Kelin said that Britain's line on supplying the Kiev regime with long-range Storm Shadow missiles could lead to increased strategic risks and even a clash of nuclear powers. According to him, Britain's policy speaks of its direct involvement in the Ukrainian conflict against the Russian side.
Before that, on October 22, Britain transferred an additional $155 million to support Ukraine's naval forces. According to the press service of the country's Prime Minister Keir Starmer, this initiative is being carried out jointly with Norway.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 24 February 2022 after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
