Thailand expects up to 1.8 million tourists from Russia by the end of 2024
Thailand remains one of the most popular resort destinations for Russians. By the end of the year, the kingdom is expected to be visited by a total of up to 1.8 million Russian tourists, the Russian Embassy in the country told Izvestia.
"From October to April, the intensity of flights is particularly high. For example, last year in November 200 thousand Russian tourists visited the country, in December - 250 thousand. This year, as of December 1, Thailand has already been visited by 1.5 million of our citizens. Full statistics will be available at the end of the year. We expect that this figure will reach 1.7-1.8 million people," - said the Russian diplomatic mission.
Last year the tourist flow from Russia amounted to 1.48 million people. This is more than in pre-pandemic 2019 (1.47 million).
