After a UAV attack, a fire broke out at the Novoshakhtyn Oil Products Refinery

An oil products factory has caught fire in Novoshakhtinsk after an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was reported by Yuri Slyusar, the region's acting governor, on December 19.
"As a result of a UAV attack in Novoshakhtinsk, there was a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, emergency rescue units went to the scene of the fire. Information about the injured is being clarified.
Earlier in the day, Slyusar said that air defense forces destroyed seven drones over the Rostov region, including six in Taganrog and one in Bataysk. He also specified that there were no casualties or damage as a result of the attacks.
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
