The Biden administration is using all the time in the world to settle the Middle East

The administration of the current U.S. President Joe Biden plans to use all the remaining time to resolve the conflict in the Middle East. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on December 19.
At the same time, he noted that there is no certainty of success.
"I am hopeful. We intend to use every minute of every day of every week we have left to make it happen," he said during the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, broadcast on the YouTube channel of the US State Department.
Earlier on Dec. 18, the Al-Arabiya publication reported that the radical Palestinian movement Hamas had agreed to release sick and elderly hostages. As the publication pointed out, this is a "significant breakthrough" in one of the issues concerning the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Before that, on December 17, the head of the press service of the U.S. State Department, Matthew Miller, said that the Israeli authorities and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas can overcome differences and reach an agreement on a truce in the Gaza Strip.
The situation in the Middle East escalated in the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to massive rocket firefrom the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
