Pushilin called the situation in Kurakhovo critical for the AFU

Militants of the Ukrainian armed formations (UFU) have found themselves in a critical situation in Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), their only supply route is under fire. This was reported by the head of the region Denis Pushilin on December 18.
"In Kurakhovo itself, the situation at the VFU is critical - the only supply route is under our constant fire," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Pushilin also noted that on the Kurakhovo direction the day before, December 17, Russian servicemen liberated two more settlements - Trudovoye and Stariye Terny, also were liberated Annivka, Pushkino, Vesely Gai.
Earlier in the day, the chairman of the Russian Public Chamber's commission on sovereignty issues and co-chairman of the coordination council for the integration of new regions, Vladimir Rogov, said that servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces (AFU) had cleaned up a cauldron into which units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) grouping south of Kurakhovo had fallen.
Before that, on December 15, Rogov reported about the encirclement of the Ukrainian army grouping of 700 people near Kurakhovo. He noted that for the most part the AFU counterattacked Russian troops west of Uspenovka in order to create space for the exit of the grouping trapped in the cauldron.
On October 17, the Defense Ministry said that soldiers of the Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces broke through the defenses of the AFU militants at one of the frontline sites in Kurakhovo. The decisive assault actions of the Russian Armed Forces fighters allowed them to occupy a height near the settlement and prevent the AFU from regrouping.
On December 18, Izvestia showed how Russian servicemen spread leaflets over AFU positions in Kurakhovo. Each drone carries about 400 leaflets, which are scattered to the sound of "Lay down your arms voluntarily and come over to the side of Russia, Russian soldiers are not your enemies."
The special operation to defend Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced would begin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
