- Three districts of Sochi will be under a state of emergency after a landslide occurred

In Adler, Lazarevsky and Khostinsky districts of Sochi a local emergency regime is introduced after a landslide. This was announced by the mayor of Sochi Andrei Proshunin on December 18.
"Local emergency regime will be introduced in the settlements of Adler, Khostinsky and Lazarevsky districts. In the coming hours I will sign a resolution so that we have a legal mechanism to provide residents whose property has suffered from heavy rains and landslides, material assistance," - wrote Proshunin in his Telegram-channel.
He pointed out that there is a hotline for Sochi residents in need of such assistance. In addition, monitoring groups have begun to assess the damage caused by the disaster to the city's infrastructure.
The mayor said that he visited all settlements that suffered from ground collapses and asked residents to tell what kind of priority assistance they need. Proshunin said that a section of Chernichnaya Street was destroyed in the village of Sergei Pole, which cut off 120 people from the rest of the village, but they organized delivery of food and essential goods. In the village of Bestuzhevskoye, four buildings, a section of road and the main gas pipeline were partially damaged, but gas supply has already been restored to 31 houses.
Proshunin added that ground movement continues in some areas, and the authorities are working to ensure the safety of the population. Temporary accommodation centers have been prepared in case the situation worsens.
Landslides in Sochi occurred earlier in the day. Because of the elements in the city there was a flood, destroyed several houses, damaged the railway infrastructure. The Sochi administration reported that no one was injured.
