Russian Railways reported details of those injured in the collision of trains

As a result of the collision of a passenger train Murmansk - St. Petersburg and a freight train 11 people were injured. This was reported in the press service of Russian Railways on December 18.

Among the injured, four are in serious condition, including one conductor. All are provided with the necessary assistance. In addition, one person was trapped inside the car, for his rescue work is underway, the company said in a message in the Telegram-channel.

There are no casualties among the members of locomotive crews. Conductors provide necessary assistance to passengers.

According to the press service, the passengers were transferred to vacant seats in serviceable cars in the head end of the railroad, which will soon continue on its route. A total of four cars in the tail part of the train went off the rails. It added that four recovery trains were sent to the scene of the accident.

In addition, it is noted that Russian Railways has created an operational headquarters under the leadership of the head of the company Oleg Belozerov.

Footage from inside the train shows passengers trying to move from one carriage to the next, but they failed as the inter-carriage doors were damaged and jammed. Some people were forced to evacuate outside in light clothing in the freezing cold because they were unable to retrieve their belongings.

Passenger Yulia, who was in the dining car at the time of the accident, said that the ceiling and compartment doors collapsed in one of the carriages. The girl added that the situation at the scene is calm, passengers are being assisted.

After the collision of the trains, the transport department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety of movement and operation of railway transport").
