Shadaev reported that half of YouTube's traffic is moving to Russian video hosts


Half of the traffic in Russia of the American video hosting site YouTube has moved to Russian sites. This was announced on December 18 by Minister of Digital Development of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadaev during the final meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry.
According to him, at the moment the development of Russian platforms with video content is underway. The minister pointed out that there are contenders in Russia who are ready to enter the market, noting how quickly this is happening.
"We see that the traffic that YouTube loses, half of this traffic "lands" on Russian sites," - TASS quotes Shadaev as saying.
Earlier, on November 25, it became known that the number of videos on socially important topics posted on Rutube in November exceeded half a million. Bloggers, commenting on the growing share of social and political content in Rutube, note that the role of these topics in the formation of public discourse in Russia is steadily growing.
