Passenger told about the moment when the train collided with a freight train near Murmansk

A passenger of the train that collided with a freight train in the Murmansk region, named Yulia, told Izvestia on December 18 that she was in the restaurant car at the time of the incident.

"At that moment we were in the dining car. All our glasses fell sharply, the dishes in the restaurant car broke. We thought something had happened in the other rail cars. We were told that someone pressed the stopcock," said the interviewee.

According to Yulia, the car in which they were accommodated was badly damaged: the ceiling and compartment doors collapsed, it is impossible to take things and documents.

Emergency services are working on the site, people are being helped, medics are carrying the injured on stretchers, the situation is calm, the girl concluded.

Thecollision of two trains occurred earlier in the day at the arrival of a passengertrain at the station Knyazhaya in the Murmansk region. Preliminarily, three cars of the passenger train and several freight cars went off the rails. Information about the injured is being specified.
