A man who tried to kill his wife and son with gas was arrested in Moscow region

A court in Moscow region has chosen a measure of restraint for a man who locked his wife and son at home and tried to kill them with gas. This was reported in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office on December 18.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred in late November. The man, as a result of a conflict with his wife in the village of Gribanovo, locked the door of the house, closed the windows in the rooms and opened the burners of the gas stove. At the same time, according to the agency, the man made death threats and prevented his seven-year-old son and wife from leaving the house.
The man could not complete his criminal intent, as the police arrived at the scene.
A criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" and paragraph "c" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder of two persons, including a minor"), paragraph "g" and paragraph "h" of Part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal deprivation of liberty").
The court remanded the man in custody until February 17, 2025. The defendant did not admit guilt and asked the court not to deprive him of his freedom, noting that his wife denounced him.
The day before it was reported that in the Krasnodar region, a man killed a 23-year-old young man and a 19-year-old girl, and then set fire to a residential house and fled the scene of the crime. As the Izvestiya source pointed out, their bodies were found with stab wounds in the burned apartment. The attacker may have tried to cover up the crime in this way.
