Maternity capital payment program extended until 2030

The maternity capital program will be extended until 2030, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a government meeting on December 18.

"The maternity capital program will be extended until 2030 inclusive, and for this purpose we will consider today the necessary amendments to the current legislation," he said.

Mishustin noted that such a measure of state aid has confirmed its effectiveness and demand.

Prime Minister stressed that over 14 million certificates had been issued during the entire existence of the program, and its extension would allow to support about 5 million more families.

It is specified that the matkapital will continue to be indexed. So, from February 2025 the payment for the first child will amount to more than 676 thousand rubles, for the second and subsequent - more than 893 thousand rubles.

"We will continue to provide assistance to citizens who bring up children," - concluded Mishustin.

Earlier, on November 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the budget of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund for 2025-2027, according to which the maternity capital will be indexed by 7.3%. Indexation will take place from February 1, 2025.
