The cashier of a fraudulent exchange office in Moscow who escaped with 13 million rubles was detained at Vnukovo airport. This was reported by the source of "Izvestia" on Wednesday, December 18.

The detainee turned out to be a 19-year-old native of Aktobe region. He admitted his guilt.

The incident occurred on Sunday on Zapetsky Val. A 41-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod region flew to the capital to exchange 13 million rubles on credit for currency at the request of an acquaintance. The man came to the specified address and handed the money to the cash desk, but the man on the other side of the window slammed the sash and disappeared.

Earlier, on December 16, it was reported that fraudsters swindled 146 million rubles from an 83-year-old pensioner from Moscow. The swindlers said that the woman faces a sentence for allegedly attempting to transfer money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and offered to "cooperate with the investigation". She handed over all her savings to the attackers and then turned to the police.
