Sobyanin told about tourists' interest in New Year Moscow

In Moscow hotels by the beginning of December more than half of the rooms (65%) were booked for the dates from December 31 to January 5. This was reported by the mayor of the Russian capital Sergey Sobyanin, noting the growth of hotel occupancy compared to the same period last year.
"This year every fifth guest of New Year hotels came to us from abroad. Guests from Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE are actively booking rooms for New Year holidays," the mayor wrote in his personal blog.
According to Sobyanin, among Russian tourists planning to come to Moscow for New Year holidays and live in the hotels of the capital, most of all residents of Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Perm, Yaroslavl and Krasnodar.
The mayor believes that tourists are attracted, in particular, by the project "Winter in Moscow" taking place in the capital. Its program "offers hundreds of events and opportunities to diversify leisure time for any taste and in any company", Sobyanin stressed. Guests can, for example, watch an ice show, ride down a slide, drink tea with plushies, take part in sports competitions or make a gift to their loved ones with their own hands.
The project "Winter in Moscow" will unite all the entertainment of the winter capital from December 1 to February 28. Various activities will take place at 2 thousand city sites.
