Santa Claus, who rode around Bugulma on a bicycle, was arrested for pedophilia

In Bugulma, a local resident who rode around the city on a bicycle in a Santa Claus costume and invited children to his home was detained for abuse of a minor. This was reported on December 18 on the website of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan.

It is noted that a criminal case is being investigated against a 54-year-old man on the grounds of crimes under Articles 132 and 242.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - violent acts of a sexual nature against a minor, as well as the production and trafficking of materials with pornographic images of minors.

According to the investigation, in the summer of 2024, the man, repairing the balcony at his acquaintances, was alone with the six-year-old daughter of the owners.

"He committed against the child acts of a sexual nature. At the same time, the attacker filmed what happened on a cell phone camera and posted it on the Internet," the RF Investigative Committee said in a statement.

In the official Telegram-channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic specified that in the phone of the man were also found correspondence of a sexual nature with minors.

A preventive measure in the form of remand in custody has been chosen for him.

As the investigation believes, the man may be involved in the commission of other similar crimes.

"Shortly before his arrest, he rode around the city of Bugulma on a bicycle in a Santa Claus costume and handed out candy to children, inviting them to his home," the agency said.

The investigative Department urged citizens with information about the illegal activities of the accused to contact law enforcement agencies.
