En+ Energy Holding named the key events of the company in the outgoing year.

In 2024, the company participated in competitive selections for the construction of new generating capacities to cover the energy deficit in the south-east of Siberia. Based on the results, three projects of the holding company were selected for the construction of power generating units at CHPP-11 in Usolye-Sibirskiy, Irkutsk Region. The total capacity of the facilities will be 690 MW, commissioning is scheduled for 2028-2029, and investments will amount to more than 150 billion rubles.

The new power units will be powered by Russian-made equipment, which is important for the implementation of En+'s import substitution policy and the development of Russia's machine-building industry.

On the margins of the Eastern Economic Forum, En+ and the government of the Republic of Buryatia signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the implementation of the Moksky hydroelectric project. The project involves the construction of two HPPs - the Mokskaya HPP and its counter-regulator, the Ivanovskaya HPP. The prospective capacity of the plants will be 1,200 and 210 MW, respectively.

In 2024, En+ maintained the pace of implementation and investments in the New Energy modernization program. The Group's hydropower plants continue to replace main equipment, including impellers. The modernization has already made it possible to increase annual electricity generation by 2.2 billion kWh with a comparable volume of water used, as well as prevent the emission of 2.5 million tons of greenhouse gases from coal-fired power plants.

In the past year, En+ completed the first stage of modernization of the Irkutsk HPP, replacing 4 out of 8 hydroelectric units at the plant. Currently, the second stage of the HPP upgrade is being worked out. Also, one impeller each was replaced at the Krasnoyarsk and Bratskaya HPPs. In total, 21 billion rubles (including funds already invested) have been allocated for the program until 2026.

En+ continues to develop the Zashulanskoye hard coal deposit in Transbaikalia. The company has started construction of a highway that will connect the open-pit mine with the Girshelun-Ugolnaya railway station, which is currently under construction, as well as a substation for reliable power supply to coal mining operations.

In 2024, the company will double the network of filling stations in the Irkutsk Region and install 18 new stations. The capacity of each filling station will be 150 kW, which will enable "fast" charging sessions. The total investment in the project will amount to about 70 million rubles.

En+ has for many years supported the position that hydropower plants, including large ones, are a low-carbon source of electricity. To confirm this, the company initiated measurement of greenhouse gas emissions from the reservoirs of the Agar cascade of HPPs - Irkutskaya, Bratskaya and Ust-Ilimskaya. The study utilized the International Energy Agency methodology.

The study confirmed low emissions - from 1.8 to 7 grams of CO2 per kWh, which is not only lower than the emissions of other types of conventional generation, but also lower than the average values of the world's boreal reservoirs. The correctness of the calculations was confirmed by the international company TÜV Austria.

En+ maintains plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. 80% of the company's energy assets are already low-carbon. Priority areas of decarbonization include construction of new hydro and wind power plants, modernization of HPPs, as well as increasing the availability of "green" energy for Russian enterprises, including so-called green certificates.

The Association "Baikal without Plastic", established on the initiative of En+, in 2024 held the second expedition to lift plastic fishing nets from the bottom of Lake Baikal. Over 4 km of nets and 400 kg of other debris were lifted during the week-long expedition. The company's ESG achievements were also recognized by the National Rating Agency (NRA), which ranked the holding company No. 1 in the ESG ranking of Russian industrial sector companies, and by the award "For Contribution to Achieving National Goals".
