A farewell to Latvian basketball player Janis Timma will be held in Riga, his sister Lelde Jandecka said on December 18.

"It will be possible to say goodbye to Janis in person in Riga," she wrote in the social network Facebook (owned by the recognized extremist company Meta, its activities are banned in Russia).

According to the woman, more precise information will be known when the body of the athlete will be sent to Latvia.

She thanked all sympathetic people, as well as those who offered help in organizational, legal and financial matters.

In turn, Timma's friend Gatis Linins, on behalf of the mother of the deceased, announced on his page about the collection of funds for the transportation of the athlete's body to his homeland and its burial. According to his information, at the moment, the necessary amount has been collected.

December 17, it became known that Timma, the former husband of singer Anna Sedokova, committed suicide in Moscow, recalls "Gazeta.Ru". It was reported that on his phone was a screensaver with the inscription "Call Anna" and her phone number.

Later Sedokova published a commentary on the death of her ex-husband, saying that in recent years "lived in hell". She also urged the public not to write about the incident, noting that she is raising a young child who should not know anything. Also, some media reported that Sedokova, according to unconfirmed reports, went to the hospital with a nervous breakdown.
