Sukhov, a polygamist with 14 children, spoke about the inspection against his family

Ivan Sukhov, the capital's polygamist and father of many children, whose attention has been drawn after a high-profile interview and public requests to check his family, confirmed in a conversation with Izvestia on December 18 that the responsible authorities had visited him, but he had nothing to hide. The man stated that he treats such visits with understanding.

"Someone came up with a reason, wrote a statement, the services react. This is their job. <...> Let them come and check, I have nothing to hide," he said.

Sukhov added that the first check, presumably, was successful, otherwise by now "everything would be different," but "most likely, there will still be a lot of checks." The father of many children believes that someone is publicizing on him.

The man admitted that he decided to do the interview to show that "it is possible to build a family in Mother Russia and be happy even with a small income."

"Despite any sanctions, everything is fine in our country. It is possible to feed a large family, and there are no problems and tragedies in this matter. And this can be done only in Russia, in Europe you will not feed so many children, you will go crazy, your children will be taken away from you there," Sukhov said.

The man added that with three wives and 14 children in one apartment is "a little cramped," but the family lives well, in addition, he noted that their family is expanding, but nevertheless does not take loans and does not get into debt.

Earlier, on December 18, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in Moscow Olga Yaroslavskaya reported on plans to visit the family of the capital's polygamist Ivan Sukhov, the man has three wives and 14 children. According to the ombudsman, she is not ready to comment on the moral and ethical side of the situation, it is important for her to make sure that the rights of children are not violated.
