- Liksutov told about the repartition of 64 kilometers of the Moscow Ring Road in six years

Almost 64 km of the Moscow Ring Road have been repaved since 2018. These are 26 major projects with the addition of lanes and arrangement of transition and speed lanes in the area of exits and exits, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
In the next two years it is planned to repave another 35 km of the Moscow Ring Road. According to Liksutov, this is a quick and economical method of improving conditions for drivers on roads with heavy traffic.
"More lanes and safe exits have appeared on the Moscow Ring Road. Thanks to this, the capacity of the highway has increased, and the accident rate has decreased by 31% compared to 2018," he emphasized.
The method of repartitioning allows creating additional lanes where it is difficult to widen the roadway. Such a measure improves travel conditions without unnecessary costs and the need to close a section of the road for a long time. The lanes are added by slightly narrowing the edge lanes on the busiest sections. At the same time, they remain at least 3.5 meters wide.
For example, thanks to the additional lanes on the section of the Moscow Ring Road from Novorizhskoye to Rublevskoye highway in both directions, traffic speed increased by 10% during peak hours. Now on average 7% more cars pass through here.
In total, more than 400 re-paving projects have been implemented in Moscow over nine years. Thanks to the integrated approach of the Central Administrative Department, including repartitioning, in five years, from 2018 to 2023, the number of accidents with victims on the Moscow Ring Road decreased by 31%, from 817 to 561.
