Frosts up to -35 degrees will arrive in Primorye at the weekend

Forecasters have predicted a severe cold snap in Primorsky Krai at the weekend. The temperature will drop to -35 degrees Celsius.

According to forecasts, a cyclone will move over the Sea of Japan on December 21. Cloudiness is expected in the southern part of Primorye, but without precipitation. The wind on the coast will increase, writes IA UssurMedia. The air temperature will be -14...-20 degrees, in the north-east up to -29...-35 degrees. In the daytime hours the temperature will be -9...-16 degrees, only on the coast is expected to -7 degrees.

On December 22, the cyclone will retreat to the Pacific Ocean. The following cold wave will lead to frost intensification, the temperature will drop by 1-5 degrees.

Earlier, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand predicted an abnormal cold snap in a number of Russian regions. Frosts are expected in the North-West Federal District from December 18 to 20, the temperature will be below the norm by 8-12 degrees.
