Former First Deputy Minister of Labor of the Omsk Region detained for abuse of power

The former first deputy minister of labor and social development of Omsk region was detained on charges of abuse of power. This was reported on December 18 on the website of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in Omsk region.

It is specified that the detention took place within the framework of the investigation of the criminal case under paragraphs "c", "d", "e" of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Exceeding of official powers by a group of persons") against the director of the autonomous stationary social service institution "Omsk boarding house" and officials of the Ministry of Labor.

According to the investigation, the defendants bought a car for 3.3 million rubles "for the needs of the first deputy minister" at the expense of off-budget funding sources of the boarding home.

"By unlawful actions significantly violated the interests of the boarding home and its residents in need of social protection," the report said.

The agency noted that the investigation intends to apply for the election of the accused measure of restraint in the form of house arrest.

Earlier in the day it was reported that four people were arrested in the Transbaikal Territory on charges of taking bribes worth more than 30 million rubles. The defendants are accused of crimes under part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe"). One of the detainees was also charged under part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Exceeding official powers").
