Greenhouse vegetable production increased by 20% in Khabarovsk Krai

Production of greenhouse vegetables increased by 20% in 2024 in Khabarovsk Krai. This is reported by IA AmurMedia with reference to the government of the region.

The projected volume of production at the end of the year will be about 3.5 thousand tons. In total, five large greenhouse complexes operate in the region, four of them - in Khabarovsk and Khabarovsk district. According to Svetlana Kondrashova, head of the department of investment, export development and staffing of the Ministry of Agriculture, the growth of production is facilitated by government support measures.

In 2023, the enterprises received 10.6 million rubles for the purchase of equipment. In 2024, a new subsidy helped to reimburse the costs of gas and electricity, which makes up the bulk of producers' expenses. The volume of support amounted to 30.8 million rubles.

Since 2019, the production of greenhouse vegetables has increased by more than 50%. At the end of 11 months of 2024, agrarians produced more vegetables than in the whole of 2023.
