The head of the Gambling Regulation Commission was detained in Ukraine

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine have detained the head of the commission for regulation of gambling and lotteries (KRAIL), Ivan Rudoh. This was reported by RBC Ukraine on December 18.
It is specified that Rudogo is suspected of facilitating the activities on the territory of Ukraine online casinos, allegedly operating from the territory of Russia.
"During the search at the detainee was found a substance similar to narcotic", - noted in the edition with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.
In April this year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired May 20) signed a decree restricting the work of online casinos and Internet gambling in the country. With the decree, Zelensky enforced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, which, among other things, provides for the restriction of online casino advertising and setting limits on the time of games and costs for them.
Prior to that, on 28 March, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) said that an "epidemic of online casino gambling addiction" had started among AFU servicemen after gambling was legalized by the authorities. The parliamentarian added that nine out of ten soldiers have such problems on the front line.
