Kuban collects fuel oil on the coastline of 49 km long


In the Krasnodar region on the coastline of 49 kilometers, work is underway to remove fuel oil after an emergency situation (emergency), which occurred with tankers. About it on December 18 reports the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Telegram-channel.
"A grouping of the Russian Emergencies Ministry patrols 70 km of the coast in the area of the oil spill. In Temryuksky and Anapa districts 49 km of coastline are being cleaned. Patrol groups will be on duty around the clock", - stated in the message.
It is reported that the Black Sea coast is being cleaned by more than a thousand rescuers and volunteers, as well as about a hundred units of equipment.
December 17, Governor of the Krasnodar region Veniamin Kondratiev said that oil products after the accident with tankers in the Kuban carried to the shore for dozens of kilometers from the village of Veselovka in the Temryuksky district and to the village of Blagoveshchenskaya in Anapa. Kondratiev added that the two municipalities had emergency deployment of operative staffs chaired by the heads of municipalities.
The tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15. In that area there were strong squally winds and sea excitement up to 7 points. The main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol reported that more than 50 people and 11 units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the accident.
On December 16, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov said that it is too early to say how much oil products have fallen into the sea. Part of the fuel oil remains in the tankers, which are at the bottom of the sea, and due to temperature conditions, the fuel oil remains on the bottom. According to him, divers will examine the remains of the vessels and, accordingly, will give their conclusion.
