Eight members of an organized criminal group, who illegally migrated more than a thousand people for almost two years, have been detained in Moscow. This was reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (IC RF) on December 18.

"According to the investigation, from January 2023 to December 2024, the members of the organized criminal group, acting out of personal self-interest, contrary to the established order of migration registration, organized for a monetary reward illegal stay in the territory of the Russian Federation more than 1000 foreign citizens by making fictitious employment contracts", - noted in the Telegram-channel.

It is noted that the gang members produced fictitious labor contracts and provided false information in the migration registration. According to the investigation, the income from criminal activity amounted to almost 30 million rubles.

The detainees were searched, during which the money, documentation, forms and information carriers were found. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal migration).

Earlier, on November 27, a local resident was detained in St. Petersburg on suspicion of illegal migration. It was established that in cooperation the figure developed a plan, according to which foreign citizens were fictitiously registered at the place of stay, they were also issued a patent. In addition, the criminal scheme was carried out for monetary remuneration.
