American journalist and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson actively prevented former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo from becoming part of the future administration of US President-elect Donald Trump. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on December 18, citing sources.

According to the sources, Carlson repeatedly claimed that the former Secretary of State is a "conflict instigator", so he proposed a campaign aimed at not getting Pompeo a position in the Trump administration.

"He (Carlson. - Ed.) outlined [Trump] a number of claims he has against Pompeo, including, according to him, an alleged plot by the former Secretary of State to assassinate WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange," the material notes.

In November, the Ukrainian edition of "Strana.ua" reported that Trump destroyed Ukraine's hope for the presence of a lobbyist for the interests of the Kiev regime in the U.S. government by deciding not to invite former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to his team.
