In the UK, about 6 million buildings may go under water by 2050. The UK's Environment Agency (EA) said in a report on December 17.

"Around 6.3 million properties (homes and businesses) in England are in areas at risk of flooding from one or more sources," the agency said in its report.

It is reported that due to climate change, the total number of buildings at risk of surface water flooding could rise to 8 million by mid-century.

For the UK, such a scenario would lead to economic problems.

On November 24, law enforcement agencies reported that three people died due to the effects of the storm "Burt" in the UK. It was noted that the storm caused the closure of a number of highways.
