The Kherota River flooded low-lying areas in Sochi

In Sochi, the river Kherota has risen to the mark of a dangerous phenomenon. This was reported to journalists on December 18 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Krasnodar Krai.

"The river Kherota <...> came out of its banks and flooded the nearby low-lying areas, adjacent territories, tentatively, at the addresses: Petrozavodskaya street, 16, Dachnaya, 12, Petrozavodskaya, 6. Water did not enter the houses", - specified in the department.

They added that residents were notified by order of the head of the Department of Civil Defense and Protection of the population.

In August, Sochi was hit by volley showers, which caused partial flooding. In particular, the city hospital was flooded. As follows from the video, the water flowed into the room through the window, it flooded the basement floor. The administration helped patients to climb to the upper floors.
