Russian servicemen of the Western Group of Forces units have destroyed 11 control points of unmanned aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the past 24 hours. This was reported by Leonid Sharov, spokesman for the Western Group of Forces on December 18.
"Eleven control points of unmanned aviation were destroyed," Interfax quoted him as saying.
In addition, Sharov added that in the course of counter-battery combat, artillerymen of the Zapad troops grouping uncovered and suppressed more than 80 Ukrainian army facilities in the special operation zone. Also, air defense calculations and mobile firing groups destroyed four Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type, the representative of the Western group of troops noted.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that servicemen of the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft system of the Center group of troops destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Ukrainian armed forces of the Baba-Yaga type in the Krasnoarmeysk direction of the special military operation.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the region.
