Economist predicted the average size of sick pay in 2025

The average amount of temporary disability allowance in 2025 will be about Br2 thousand per day at an average salary of almost Br100 thousand. This was reported on December 18 by a leading employee of the Institute of Social Analysis and Forecasting of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Viktor Lyashok.

"Statistics on sick pay is limited, there is no exact data on the average size. However, according to my estimates, it will be about Br2 thousand per day for the recipient of the average salary, which is forecasted by the Ministry of Economic Development next year - almost Br100 thousand," he told "RIA Novosti."

The economist drew attention to the fact that the Russian Federation offers quite generous sick pay compared to other developed and developing countries, as the country has preserved the Soviet model of workers' protection, he explained.

However, according to the expert, the problem still remains the fact that such a Soviet model does not apply to all workers. Thus, the majority of those working in small businesses and in the informal sector will not be able to receive payments for sick leave, added Lyashok.

It will be valid for three days for frequently ill citizens

Earlier, on December 6, it became known that the order of formation of sick leave is planned to change from September 1, 2025. It was specified that at the moment the project is at the stage of summarizing the results of its public discussion. According to the updated regulations, the number of certificates of incapacity for work issued to an individual citizen will be taken into account for the timely detection and prevention of serious diseases.

At the same time, the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection Alexei Kurinniy noted that the new procedure for the formation of sick leaves according to the project of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation will protect against situations when a person abuses their number. He added that the commission will make the assessment of a person's condition more objective.
