Transnistria's Foreign Ministry says Moldavia is avoiding a joint decision on gas

"It is important to realize that without a sustainable agreement, both the DMR and the RM, despite the bravado speeches of some Moldovan representatives, will face severe consequences. Therefore, we will certainly continue communication with Chisinau. The issue of energy supply is so vitally important that we will in any case discuss it with all international actors involved, including Moldova, no matter how inadequately the Moldovan side behaves," it said.

Transnistria is fully open and ready for operative interaction, so the ball is now on Chisinau's side, the foreign ministry added.

The current transit contract for pumping gas from Russia through Ukraine ends on December 31.
