Russian Armed Forces Marines Destroy NATO Armed Forces Equipment in the Kursk Region Border Area

Servicemen of the Marine Infantry Brigade of the "North" group of troops have destroyed equipment and militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk border area. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 18.

It is reported that the column of enemy equipment, which was trying to regain lost positions, was defeated. The technique was stopped with the help of mine barriers and the use of FPV drones. The Marines ambushed, defeated the enemy and completely stopped the enemy's advance in the area.

"The prisoners were also interrogated, who provided all the information," the gunner with the call sign Almaz pointed out.

The enemy was forced to retreat from its fortified positions, leaving wounded and killed on the battlefield, as well as weapons, ammunition and equipment of NATO countries, including a Canadian-made Roshel Senator armored fighting vehicle, a Canadian-made HMMWV armored vehicle and a US-made Stryker armored personnel carrier.

After unsuccessful frontal attacks, the AFU tried to outflank the Russian fighters, but thanks to the ingenuity of the unit commander, they were taken by surprise. After that, the Marines were able to take favorable positions for further control of movement and destruction of light and heavy military equipment of the AFU.

Earlier, on December 17, drones of the "North" group of troops in Kursk region destroyed a cluster of AFU fighters. The means of objective control in real time showed the successful defeat of the target.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
