"Lord of the Rings" actor David Witherleigh has died.

British-New Zealand actor David Witherley, who played in the movie "The Lord of the Rings", died at the 85th year of life. This was reported by The New Zeeland Herald newspaper on December 17.

It is specified that the death of the actor became known on Thursday, December 12. Closest Witherley remembered him as a man who "charmed the audience in the theater, on the radio, in the cinema and on television.

The actor is known for his role in the movie "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring", where he played Barliman Butterbur. Whiterley also starred in the TV series "Xena - Warrior Queen" and "The Amazing Wanderings of Hercules."

The funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 19, in Birkenhead, UK.
